Cavallotto

The Cavallotto family has farmed the Bricco Boschis hill in Castiglione Falletto since 1929 and bottled its own Barolo since 1948 — an eternity in a zone where estate bottling came late. With the cru effectively a family monopole, the house practices patient traditionalism: long macerations, large Slavonian casks, and grass between the rows decades before organics had a name. The Barolos — Bricco Boschis, the Vignolo riserva, and the crowning Vigna San Giuseppe — carry Castiglione Falletto's signature balance of La Morra perfume and Serralunga spine, and they reward the cellar as faithfully as any wine in the village.
