Château Lagrange
The estate

Château Lagrange is one of Bordeaux's great restoration stories. When Japanese drinks house Suntory bought the estate in 1983 — the first classed growth to pass into Japanese hands — Lagrange was a faded Third Growth with a fraction of its vineyard in shape. Four decades of patient replanting and investment rebuilt it into one of St-Julien's largest and most consistent properties, its wine a textbook of the appellation: polished Cabernet fruit, quiet structure, dependable in almost every vintage and rarely overpriced. Les Fiefs de Lagrange, the second wine, is a St-Julien staple in its own right.
