Château Meyney

Château Meyney occupies one of Saint-Estèphe's great riverfront terraces — a gravel rise beside Montrose overlooking the Gironde, planted continuously since its founding as a priory in 1662. Never classified, it has spent the past two decades making the case that the 1855 list missed one: dark, structured, iron-tinged claret with an unusually generous share of old-vine Petit Verdot lending violets and spice. Recent vintages have been the strongest in the estate's modern history, and the price still trails the quality by a comfortable margin.
