Domaine Jean Grivot

Domaine Jean Grivot works some of the most hallowed ground in Vosne-Romanée, from a major parcel of Clos de Vougeot up to Echézeaux and the grand cru that crowns the cellar, Richebourg. Etienne Grivot spent four decades refining the house style — dark-fruited, precise, structured without heaviness — and the next generation now carries it forward with the same patience. The premiers crus are a study in Vosne's range, from the airy heights of Les Beaux Monts to the spice of Les Suchots and the Vosne-like opulence of Nuits-St-Georges Les Boudots. These are wines built quietly, for the long haul.
