Domaine Zind Humbrecht

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is Alsace at its most profound. Formed in 1959 by the union of two Turckheim growing families and led for decades by Olivier Humbrecht — France's first Master of Wine — the domaine farms a string of extraordinary sites biodynamically, none more dramatic than the volcanic Rangen de Thann, whose Clos Saint-Urbain yields Rieslings and Pinot Gris of almost geological intensity. Brand, Hengst and Goldert round out a grand cru portfolio few can match. The wines are powerful, deeply textured and built for the table, and the house's Indice scale on each label removes the guesswork on sweetness.
