Dönnhoff put the Nahe on the world's fine-wine map almost single-handedly. From Oberhausen, Helmut Dönnhoff spent a lifetime coaxing crystalline Rieslings from the river's volcanic and slate slopes — above all the Hermannshöhle, one of Germany's undisputed great vineyards, and the tiny monopole Oberhäuser Brücke, source of legendary Eiswein. His son Cornelius now leads with the same quiet exactness. The range runs from taut, mineral dry Grosses Gewächs to Spätlese and Auslese of weightless intensity, every wine sharing the house signature: purity so complete it feels less made than found.
