The estate

Vega Sicilia is Spain's most storied estate, a name spoken with the same reverence as the First Growths. Founded in 1864 on the banks of the Duero and owned by the Álvarez family since 1982, the house built its legend on Único — Tempranillo deepened with Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for roughly a decade in wood and bottle before it is allowed to leave the cellar. Valbuena 5° offers the estate's signature on a five-year clock, while the Reserva Especial, a blend of great vintages, may be the finest non-vintage red wine made anywhere. Time is the house's true ingredient.
