The 2007 Musigny Grand Cru from Drouhin has a fragrant nose, purer than the 1996 tasted alongside, airy and yet with ample fruit intensity, touches of bergamot emerging with time. I love the transparency articulated across the palate, which is beautifully defined and tensile. It has a silk-like texture, fresh and poised, with a wonderful crescendo towards the finish with a slightly ferrous aftertaste. Magnificent. Tasted at the La Paulée in Beaune.
