Tasting notes
James Suckling · James Suckling · 95
Intense aromas of meat, berries with hints of black truffles. Goes to dried dark fruits. Full body, with intense super polished tannins and a long chewy finish. This is very powerful. Try it after 2014
Stephen Tanzer · Vinous · 95+
Good full red. Deep, complex aromas and flavors of dark cherry, raspberry, flowers, tobacco and truffley underbrush. Broad and classic, with superb inner-mouth floral lift and a pronounced crushed rock character. A beautiful expression of Cannubi, with excellent acidity, noble tannins and an extremely long, resounding finish. This fruit was picked at a low pH in 2007, noted Elisa Scavino.
Antonio Galloni · Vinous · 89
The 2007 Barolo captures the warm, open personality of the vintage in its floral, perfumed fruit. A long, polished finish rounds things out nicely. The 2007 is a touch less exciting and complete than some previous years, but is absolutely delicious today and a great choice for near-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2019.
