Tasting notes
Robert Parker · Wine Advocate · 95
Another inky, opaque, purple-colored wine with beautiful blackcurrant, black raspberry, licorice and earthy undertones, this full-bodied, opulent, dense, rich 2012 (90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 14.3% alcohol) is a tour de force in this vintage. This over-achieving estate has hit a home run, which is especially impressive in 2012. This wine ideally needs several years of bottle age and should drink well for 15 or more years.
Antonio Galloni · Vinous · 92
The 2012 Clos Dubreuil is an intense wine. Dark red and black fleshed fruit, blackberry jam, smoke, tobacco, licorice and incense all open up in the glass. A good dose of French oak adds sweetness and softens the contours in this opulent, inky Pomerol. Supple and racy to the core, the 2012 can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade.
