The 2023 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese (Auction) is very clear and precise on the nose that shows delicate notes of finely crushed slate and candied lemon rind notes. Very filigreed yet also lush and generous on the palate, this is a weightless, highly finessed and elegant, savory and sustainably structured wine with generous and dense, very persistent and stimulating fruit with lychee flavors and a long, highly stimulating, saline and crystalline finish. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

The 2023 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese opens with a serene, stony, salty slaty breeze. The palate is exquisitely fine and very bright, luminous even, soaring upward as it reaches down into the slate, embodying the total elegance of the site. Slenderness and serenity are exemplary.
