Bodega Catena Zapata

Bodega Catena Zapata took Argentine wine from the table to the world stage. Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, the house was transformed when Nicolás Catena Zapata — inspired by California's fine-wine revolution — bet everything on altitude, planting Malbec far up the Andean foothills where cold nights preserve perfume and freshness. The summit of that bet is the Adrianna Vineyard at some 1,450 meters in Gualtallary, whose parcel wines — Fortuna Terrae, White Stones, White Bones — rank with South America's greatest. Under Laura Catena the house pairs research with tradition, all of it anchored by the famous Mayan-pyramid winery.
