The estate

Domaine Dujac rewrote Morey-St-Denis. When Jacques Seysses — a banker's son with no vineyard inheritance — bought a run-down domaine in 1967, he brought an outsider's rigor and a conviction that whole-cluster fermentation could give red Burgundy an extra dimension of perfume and silk. Half a century later the house style is unmistakable: aromatic, spicy, weightless wines from a roster crowned by Clos de la Roche and Clos St-Denis. Sons Jeremy and Alec, with Diana Snowden Seysses, now share the cellar, farming organically. The Dujac Fils & Père label extends the same sensibility to purchased fruit at gentler prices.
