Vietti

Vietti has shaped modern Barolo from its cellar beneath Castiglione Falletto since 1873. The house bottled one of the appellation's first single-cru wines — Rocche di Castiglione, in 1961 — rescued the white grape Arneis from near-extinction a few years later, and began commissioning its famous artist labels in 1974. Under the Currado family the range grew into a tour of Barolo's greatest sites: Rocche di Castiglione, Ravera, Lazzarito and Brunate, crowned by the Villero Riserva released only in exceptional vintages. The style threads tradition and polish, with perfume and structural depth that reward long cellaring.
