Tasting notes

Jeb Dunnuck · Jeb Dunnuck · 97

The 2015 Chevalier Blanc is as brilliant now as it was on release yet still needs 4-5 years of bottle age to show at its best. Crushed lime, lemon zest, crushed rocks, and beautiful white grapefruit notes all emerge from this racy, beautifully concentrated, focused white that checks in with the crème de la crème of the vintage.

James Suckling · James Suckling · 96-97

Incredible depth of fruit and density. Full and powerful with so much fruit and richness yet remains fresh and clean. Purity. Massive yet vibrant and electric. Minerality length. Love the to taste this.

Antonio Galloni · Vinous · 96

The 2015 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is every bit as captivating from bottle as it was from barrel. Time seems to have given the 2015 more depth and freshness, which is obviously a very good thing. A host of lemon peel, crushed rock, green pear, mint and dried apricot notes develop in the glass, but as is so often the case here, it is the wine's textural brilliance and persistence that place it among the world's great wines. The 2015 is simply magnificent.

The 2015 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is one of my favorite vintages in recent years. On the nose, Golden Delicious intermixes with lime and Granny Smiths, which has real drive. The palate is very well balanced with great poise and tension, but it's the texture that really delivers, with hints of chamomile lingering toward the finish. This is excellent. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.

Clearly working in a reductive environment during ageing, emphasising a lovely sense of precision. Mouthwatering, watermelon juiciness, with round citrus underneath. A clear seam of freshness that runs through, and the palate is on an upward trajectory from start to finish with a slow build of wet stones. Yet another superb vintage that proves this is one of the very best white wines in Bordeaux.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW · Wine Advocate · 95

The Domaine de Chevalier 2015 Blanc is composed of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Sémillon, fermented in barrel (35% new), and aged for 18 months on the lees with stirring. It opens with lovely lemon tart, fresh grapefruit and pineapple with a waft of honeysuckle. The medium-bodied palate is very tightly knit with wonderfully crisp acid and a citrusy finish.

Jane Anson · Decanter · 94

Pale gold in colour at 10 years, just beginning to deepen but still showing clarity and verve. Shows a deft mix of preserved lemon, saffron, wax, citrus peel, quince and lime zest. Still gong strong, as is typical for the superb white wine from Domaine de Chevalier.
