Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016

The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru – which was only 20% affected by frost, much less than the Latricières – has an open, expressive bouquet of red plum and raspberry fruit, rooibos and light incense aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins, just a little rigid at first pour. Linear with modest weight, it just needs a little more precision on the finish.
