Leeuwin Estate

One of the founding names of Margaret River, Leeuwin Estate was planted in the mid-1970s on advice from Robert Mondavi, who saw in this remote corner of Western Australia the makings of a great wine region. The Horgan family still runs the estate, and its Art Series Chardonnay — drawn from the original Block 20 vines — has become Australia's most celebrated white wine, a match of citrus-laced intensity and decade-long stamina. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz complete a range in which polish never comes at the expense of place.
